    I've heard of that car before. It may be the same one a friend of mine sold and somehow got "lost" in shipping. Found later stripped pretty clean. It was VERY rough, but complete when he sold it. Insured, so he came out OK.

    '69 Hurst Olds

    I have seen this car personally. It is at at a salvage yard in Madison IL (which is across the river from St. Louis). It is very rough and as stated earlier, all of the body tags and all of the Hurst equipment is gone. It is too far gone to even consider saving, which is very depressing.

    Makes you wonder if the body tag and Hurst equipment ended up on another rust-free Cutlass body shell and restored as an original Hurst Olds, before the original rusty hulk was hauled to the salvage yard.

    this is not legal correct? in fact i think it is a federal offense to tamper with the vin tags

    dave does olds stamp the frame like pontiac did on their "a" body? :Do No:

    Yes, the final 8 digits of the VIN were stamped on the top face of the side rail near the trans crossmember and also behind the rear wheel on the top face near the LH tailpipe hanger. Both on the drivers' side. That Hurst would be stamped 9MXXXXXX at those locations. The 6 digit sequential VIN could trace it back.
