Great SCOTT , Bruce !!! What have you gone and done now ?!?!?!?!?!?!? That is FREAKIN AWSOME !! I've always loved the lines of those cars.....but aren't they relatively heavy ?? Did you stick with the stockish IRS ??? the big Q. is.....will you be allowed to run at the BPG event ?? Whats your target ET ??
Cool! Thats great! But wheres the AC? Did you use a kit from the guy in Texas or fab your own? I've had my '83 12 for many years, they are awesome cars. After 150K+ miles its a little tired....you've given me inspiration! - Bill :TU:
No there's no kit for a Buick motor. That John guy that does the Chevy kit wouldn't sell me a damn thing! Only the whole kit and NO advice either! Had to make my own stuff and use what I could.... No IRS, 9 in Ford, ladder bars.... Have to find a way to snake exhaust out the back..... Banned from Super 16 at the Nats, might be allowed at BPG....but I've heard some rumbling saying only Buick body.... Oh well, I guess I can run brackets. Bruce
That really freakin' cool Bruce!:TU: What have you got for a hood? It sure doesn't look like stock steel will fit, without a hole anyways. Exhaust sounds like it'll be a challenge! Full-length headers, shorty's or what? 3" pipe?
I tried manifolds, shorties, GS headers with modding a pipe or two....had to go custom made headers (full length). what it will run depends on what it weighs....hoping sub-3500 lbs. The motor that was in it ran 10.40s in my GS at 3700 lbs. SP4 cam, iron heads.... I'll tell ya one thing this wildCat is a whole lot more aerodynamic than the GS! That's got to be worth et and a bunch of MPH. In the current config it should go low 10s at 130. If I like how it feels I can always step it up later. Alum heads, Dom, Wildcat, new block, a little spray..... It was never meant to be super fast, more a bracket car.......built on a budget. Less than 12 K invested. Bruce BQUICK JAGUICK
