That site says the Scat Pack has 6.7 liter motor instead of 6.4. So not sure much on these sites can be believed if they can’t even get the facts straight. Or does Dodge owe us each .3 liters?
Funny story about the Challenger.... my neighbor, who really isn't a car guy was looking it over when I got it. He looks at the fender and says, "What does 39 Z mean?". What?? 39 Z on the fender. That's "392" not 39 z!!!
Jason, what do you have listed on your registration for the weight of that car. I've seen they weigh in at about 4200-4400 lbs. That's a heavy azz car.
I didn't get my NY plates yet. Still running the MD temp tag. I did install my "no drill" front plate bracket today in preparation though
Jason, unfortunately that dealer knew you were coming so he knew he could screw you six ways from Sunday. I local guy could have walked out of there with that car for considerably less than sticker. I see it on the Hellcat site now all the time. Guys are getting huge discounts. Dealers all over the country especially down South and out West are sitting on a ton of these cars. More travel and shipping involved though. I found my Hellcat local in early 2016 when the hysteria was still going on. One place in Florida I walked into after I sold my GSX down there wanted $30,000 over sticker. He said local minor league baseball players are paying that. I told him they were morons. Another 2 places near me wanted $10,000 over and that was to order one that they might not even get duevto limited allocations. Ya right I might pay that. I finally called a place 40 miles me and they had 3 on the showroom floor. Two black and one red. Said two black and one red exactly how I wanted it equipped. They said two black were sold. No problem I want the red, I asked how much? They said we sell them for sticker. I told them I would be down tomorrow and I want it. I went with a sharp friend which is always a good idea as they have no emotional attachment. No matter how hard I tried I could not get to come down which burned my ass as I have never paid sticker and I have bought 9 new cars. The place was a great place to buy now and absolutely no pressure. I did pay cash however which is a huge advantage. Far less games they can play. Bottom line is you are happy with the car and you got to get a few jabs in at the crooked dealer.
I got the one that 392 Advisors sells. Odd website. Its like the CEO sells these as a side gig. Click on "products" https://392advisors.com/
That is a weird one. Like straight up bazaar.....I clicked "About Us", and there's no rhyme or reason to them making those plate brackets. Wally must own a 392 and really like it.
If you are going in paying cash or a check with your own financing I do not think they would budge on price. They are in business to make money. And finance is a huge part of the dealer profit.
Jason, with a Hellcat especially that one blocks valuable cooling air. I went with this type that mounts under bumper. It uses two existing screws and you only have to drill one very small hole in the plastic panel under the car. Best part is a spring loaded pull ring takes plate on and of in a second.
Jason I would like to know what options you wanted on your car and why you went with the model and options you have ?
First mistake you made was walking onto that car lot Second mistake was going through Chrysler credit Third mistake was actually buying the car,and not just getting up and walking out.
Jason, I run a Buick GMC dealership. The industry is moving toward more transparency. In Minnesota the Dealer’s are required to disclose in a “math box” how they arrive at the advertised price and disclose any rebates used to arrive at the price on the internet. Different states have different rules and regulations. The manufacturers preach transparency to the dealers and then come up with crazy rebates like the finance incentive for customers with low credit scores. The bottom line is that the car business is very competitive and in most cases you are better off with your local dealer. Driving hours to save a buck rarely works and the value of local service usually out ways any potential savings. Dealers still treat their own customers better. As for the survey. I can sympathize with the dealer to a small degree. The system is set up as pass/fail. The 8 you gave him was the same as a zero. Then dealer has financial incentives tied to the survey as does the salesman in most cases. The dealer got what he deserved based on deceptive ad practices. The salesman was the innocent victim caught up in the your backlash. CSI is all or nothing and any marks less than a 10 will fail the dealer and the salesman. In most cases the internet is unregulated. GM is putting increased pressure on their dealers “clean up” the pricing strategies. There is still a ways to go but it is moving in the right direction. Many state legislatures are also working towards that goal as well.
