Good luck in trying to make that Torker and BG carb look stock, however, fit that bad boy in a 68-69 (to make those 'C' heads legit)' and see what can happen! :beer

Can't run that engine in a 68-69 442 as they only had 400's. Could run it in a 70-72 with a lot of cosmetic changes in addition to the ones you pointed out.

Then again, you could always chop up a 68/69 Hurst, or build a clone since they ran a 455.

I've got a great F.A.S.T. 67 400 going into my 68 W30 that ran consistent 11.50's in Hemminger's 71 Supreme and Jim Clay's NSS 67. It's disgustingly stock right down to the stock non adjustable rockers, valve covers, etc. Course the Torker's painted red, so some clown will probably spot that and get me in trouble again.   Actually it'll probably run better in what we do with a stock dual plane intake anyway. It ran with a 5000 convertor in the other applications. That could hurt with the Polyglas.

are you talking to me? :puzzled:

actually I thought FAST changed the rules so now you can run any family block. meaning for said 68-69 442, a 455 block can be used, as long as you have the correct casting heads, intake and exhaust manifolds. but I have slept since then.

edit: I thought right. from http://forum.yearone.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=39&PN=1

    2.00 ENGINE

2.01 Engine block must appear to be a correct* original block and it must be an original vintage OEM or vintage OEM replacement of the same engine family and exterior size and must be made from the same material as the correct* original block. Also, a new OEM replacement block is allowed only if it duplicates a legal vintage block in design, material, appearance, bore size and performance. No aftermarket blocks are allowed. Replacement OEM blocks that have raised decks, raised cam or bigger bores are not allowed. Block casting number does not have to be correct*. No aftermarket blocks allowed.

    For example:

    a. A correct* 400 cid block could be replaced with a vintage, OEM 455 block, if it appears externally correct*, and is made from the correct* material.

    b. A correct* Mopar 340 could use a 318, 340 or a 360 block, if it appears externally correct*, and is made from the correct* material.

    c. A correct* 327 Chevy can use a 350 or 400 block, if it appears externally correct*, and is made from the correct* material.

    d. A new Mopar Hemi standard replacement block is allowed, but a Siamese bore Mega block is not.
