Does anyone running high horsepower 455s use solid engine mounts in their cars. I was told never to use a solid mount because it adds stress to the block. Is this true or a myth?
    Any help is appreciated,
    Tony

I would not use solid mounts. Our blocks are thin and too much stress could break the block or distort it and cause clearances in the main tunnel to not stay true.........

I use rubber mounts and aluminum plates off the head to reduce movement......but it does make you have to change pulley spacing on the lower by the thickness of the plate

Other use a chain, or I've seen brace bars
