Whose running this setup (solids on HYD cam)? My lifters are pumping up at 6500 with my 608B cam (Stage 2), TA says rather than swap the cam out to a solid I could just put solids on my HYD cam and run .005-.006 lash and I'll be able to rev to the moon....stock rods and all:Dou:
At Norwalk it was hitting 6500 at 127 when the converter got hot and not pulling. Also in a bye run I tried to go 6700 on the 2-3 shift (1-2 is at 5800) and it barfed at 6500. I think I'm not seeing all my power utilized.

Maybe I should just change the 4.10s for 3.73s but I love the way the Stage 2 revs!

Get a good converter built for your combo. It was worth .2 to .3 on the wagon and from 6900 to 6300rpm at the traps and from 126 to just at 128mph.
I used DYNAMIC Converters in Newark DEL 302-454 9373.They give you a sheet to fill out on the car .engine build up, rear, tire size, etc etc etc, costly but worked out good and did much the same for Tony's "X" .
OH by the way, What was that run at NORWALK with Pollack, both dails a 10.44 and both run a 10.44 ? Bin there ,dun that !

Yeah Bill that was a great run. Heads up margin of victory .0021.
Nearly identical lights. I short shifted 2-3 at 6100 since I floated the valves earlier at 6500. IF I had shifted 100 rpm more I woulda had him.

I think I'm at the limit of a hyd cam. I may try shimming the springs since they were setup at only 115 closed.

I think my converter is OK, it's SUPPOSED to be the tightest 8 in ATI can build.

Bill you have stock rods like me right?

Bill, I have an aluminum rod motor (Block, crank, rods and pistons all assembled by Burtonsville) for your heads and cam so you can run at Cecil. Will trade for NOS parts. Let me know?

Here is the slip from Norwalk.

    That was close! Real close!
