solid pushrods?

    so if ive read right some 430 engines had solid pushrods?also 350 engines?how did the rockers get oiled?so if you run old 430 rockers on a later model engine would it be right to assume you use solid pushrods?what got me goin on this is i saw some lifters on ebay that said "for buick engines with solid pushrods"350,400,430 engines.probably a goofy q but you gotta learn somplace....thanks

    The 430's oiled through the rocker arms and not up through the pushrods, so the pushrod was solid. You can use the old rockers on the 455's, but you need 455 pushrods with the holes in them for the oil to go to the top end. TA Performance makes a hybrid pushrod that allows old rockers to be used on later 455's. Some people just used the 455 pushrods on the old rockers, but the ball is a little smaller and can cause wear on the rocker cup over time.
