    Hey everyone,

I have a 1982 Buick Riviera Coupe. It is in Great condition. I haven't had any experience with older v8's, yet I do have mechanical knowhow.

As far as I know it is an Olds 307, with a Rochester 4 barrel. I am very interested in any performance advice you may have for this platform.

It is front wheel drive with a 325-4L tranny. I'm sure this limits my options, but how much?

    Any feed-back is welcome.

    Thanks for your help.

:Brow:The real weak spot in the combination that you have is the transmission, and there is little that can be done to correct that! That being said, the transmission will bolt up to most olds 350's and 403's with out too much hassle. Because of the unique front wheel drive design, a buick V-8 just isn't very practical, but if money is no object .... The Buicks don't have the provisions for mounting the right side drive axle or to connect the engine front mounts to the block. A warmed over 403 would be the best choice, but be aware that the 325-4L is not very durable with a stock engine, life expectacy dwindles with engine modifications! Hope this helps, Tim:grin:
