    Hello gents,
just want to show you some pictures of my first project car. Started with the Riv exactly 1 year ago.
After my paint preparation, my friend painted the car over the weekend. It´s not perfect, but i think it´s o.k. for the first car. Ah, i forgotten to say, the color is a sunburst orange from GM.
There are also some other pictures during the body work and paint preperation. As well some pictures of the redone Door boards and some new painted interior stuff. I´ve already installed the new Astro Supremes 15x7 and 15x8 just for testing purpose, how it looks. I want to buy 1" Whitewalls, so i´d put some masking tape on the old tires to get an imagination of the Whitewall look. How do you think about the Whitewalls? can you give me a help, what colour should i paint the brake drums?

Two pictures, are showing how everything started and I got infected with the American - Car virus.
It was my Dad´s second American Car, a 1968 Pontiac Firebird 400 with me sitting in front of the car and the other one was a 1957 Ford Fairlane Kustom with 390 Engine and 4 Speed Trans. Both pictures were taken back in the early 90´s, so I was just about 5 years old.
I will keep you updated about the progress on the riv.
    Greets, Bastian

Thank you for the nice comments, guys! :beer
Erik, I hope I can finish the Riviera in the next two weeks, to be able to drive with car. Can`t finish the complete Interior in this time, cause im still waiting for the carpet and some small stuff. But when everything goes right, I will drive with my Riv to the Traun 500 Meeting.

    Hello Mike,
yes im doing the work. Sometimes my father helps me, hes really good in doing interior stuff, he has a eye for all the details. :TU:
I prefer to do metalwork, welding and preparing the car for the paint. :)

    Regards, Basti

    Bastian,
Thats a pretty involved project for a 1st timer. Very nice work and yes, its always a learning process. My first two paint jobs weren't perfect either but were nonetheless very presentable. After that, I figured out if I wanted perfection I had to send it to someone who preps and paints everyday. either my expectations were too high or my body skills too low.
It looks like you had a fairly solid body to start with and thats a very smart move right from the beginning.

As for the whitewalls if you're gonna use those wheels I would not go with a whitewall. Either blackwall or perhaps some white letters. If you are going with stock wheels and wheel covers the whitewall will fit well with that scheme. The wheel in the pic says sporty/performance and whitewalls are not in that cartegory......but thats just one opinion.

Great job! :beer You should be very proud of that Riv!

Thank you Jason for your kind words. I´m happy now, the car is almost finished.
Only the rear bumper is still at the airport, because of customs clearance..
Here are three pictures, sorry the car is very dusty I just drove it out from the Garage, had no time for a cleaning yet. :Do No:

    Thank you guys. :beers2:
Ive forgotten to post some interior pictures.
First interior picture is how i bought the car.
After the restoration was finished we drove about 2500 miles with the Buick to Classic car meetings and even daily to work, when the weather was fine. Now the Riv is in its winter storage and Im planning to put in a th700 instead of tired Dynaflow. But this should be the last modification, cause Im really happy with this car.
