On my route to work from home I noticed a buick parked on a driveway for the last 2 weeks..the car is covered ,can only see 1/4 of the bottom...what I can see loooks very clean..and seems 2 be a 70-72 skylark..(maybe GS)....drive by maybe 2-3 times a day..car hasnt moved...and no people around and about...so as 2 inquire...(who knows it might be for sale...)....one more week and I wont be able to take it no more...will have 2 march over there and Un-cover this car.....or at least ring the door bell....

If someone shoots me down for tresspassing..:blast: ..IT WAS NICE KNOWING EVERYONE ON THIS BOARD....

    I agree!

There's a cherry, rust free 70 skylark 4-door near my grandfather's. It's an original old lady car, complete with a flowery silk head scarf on the seat. :) It's always parked in the garage at night and in the drive during the day, so I know it gets driven a little.

I could really use a 70 parts car, but that one's too nice to cut up, if you know what I mean. I haven't had the nerve to ask her what she wants for it. :Do No:

my concern is basicly seeing what kind of skylark it is...a $5,000 one or a $25,000 one...(the first one is do-able)...I have 2 go and lift the cover off...(and get shot for tresspassing)

then if its the lesser one..I tac a note on the car........In reality everthing is for sale if the price is right...up 2 a point though......:Do No:

I would not go snooping under the car cover. Just knock on the door and talk to someone.

I wouldn't go snooping either. Respect the guy's property like you would want your's respected. There's one thing I would never do and that's mess with someone's vehicle. I know if someone messed with mine it wouldn't be a pretty sight and I'm sure alot of members feel the same way too. I would just knock on the door and ask if he would be interested in selling it or, ask him to see it.

Don't forget the advice you gave me on note writing if you go that route: hello..I noticed your car..how much do you want for it .....I want your car...if you dont sell to me real cheap I
.....will burn your house down in the middle of the night.
.....So,you better call me,and it better be cheap.THANKS.

Hey, if no one's home just leave a note on the front door or get the address off the mailbox and mail it to them. I'm sure we all have some good/weird stories about inquiring about cars.
