Getting ready to install my new stage 1 aluminum heads! Any suggestions regarding spark plugs and the best heat range? thanks ta
Hey, I thought I had the only 11 second convertible!!!:ball: Are you coming to Norwalk in May? If so, we'll have to line 'em up for a run. That would be a sight, 2 convertibles doing 11-second passes.:3gears:
Oh man......now you guys are gonna make me use the SP1 and headers instead of the Performer and factory manifolds......ou:
jeez....I hope to get into the 14's this year  But I'll get there eventually.....with another car. I don't think the Centurion will ever see 12 second runs. If it does, that means it's time for me to put down the crackpipe.
if you get 12's with your centurion I thiink you'd have won the lotto and your fingers would be melted onto the wheel like in "Trains Planes and Automobiles" when they travel between the 2 semi's. Nate
C'mon Cole, go for it. The three of us would strike terror into the hearts of Chevy and Ford drivers everywhere. What other brand could sport a trio of 11-second convertibles, with no roll bars.:Brow:
Hey 12sec We could use a name. Also there are a few of us in the Fenton area. I live on Owen Rd. Joe and Chris Taubitz are on Reid Rd. Not a great time for driving our Buicks right now but we should have a Fenton gathering in the spring. Can't help on the plugs but you can give Joe a call (810 655 8988 Swartz Creek #) If he doesn't know he can find out (Denny Manner is just down the road.)
Dont count me out !!! A Gear change and some slicks and Im knocking on Mr 11's door Howzabout in August at the BPG event ??
Alan - August for sure! I don't know if my frame-off will be ready for the Norwalk deal.....we'll sure try though!
I'll be there in August. I live in Medina, Ohio. So I'm an hour to the east of Norwalk and an hour to the west of Quaker. Does life get any better than that??? Just to let you know, I now have a Stage 2 scoop hood on the car and front spoiler, so I'm hoping to dip a few tenths lower come Norwalk. Phil
I guess this thread then begs the question: How "11 sec. Convertible Friendly" are Norwalk and Quaker tracks ?? ....or will it be another case of politely being asked to not do that again
I've run 12.05 at Norwalk without any hassles. I do wear a helmet, have dual springs on the carb, a driveshaft loop, etc., all the stuff you'd need to race. The only thing the car is missing is the roll bar itself. And I will not do that to this car. My impression is as long as it's not a sanctioned event where you're running for points, it's OK with them. After all, we are renting the track to just have fun. On the other hand, it's nice to have a car so fast that you're asked to park it.
Hey TA Hey Tony Give a call if you need help with the car....Ive left you a couple of voicemails...but no replies:ball: . We need to hook up with the sleds and run them off:3gears: . Give me a call.
How "11 sec. Convertible Friendly" are Norwalk and Quaker tracks ?? Alan, call the facilities now and POP the question! Then you'll know how to prep the car in advance. :moonu: MOON':moonu:
NOT! Norwalk will probably frown on the 11 sec convertible without a rollbar, we are asked by them to follow IHRA rules! I think even the 12 sec convertible in a no-no.
Rules state that convertibles quicker than 13.50 must have a rollbar. Like I said, they didn't say much to me last year, or the year before that when I was running 12.8's.
If my car is done in time I would to join your little party, is there room for 1 more? The 'almost stocker' (my own new class) should run pretty good.
Suuurrrrreeeee. At this rate, we'll HAVE to get our own little area in the pits. "Convertibles Only!!!!!"
