    Hey all,

    I checked for a while using the search but I did not come across the specific info that I 'm looking for. I have a 73-74 block and I want either some big port heads or some 455 stage 1 heads. I already know what to do in the case of the big port heads. I would like 70-72 455 heads to start with, then port etc etc. Those 70-72 heads will bolt right up to my block right? Any coolant passage differences? Anything that might need to be plugged? And do the 72 heads have any egr that needs to be taken care of? Thanks!

    Hey Zach;

    you can not use 72 heads on 73 and up block ... coolant holes different. just machine your 73 heads to accept stage 1 valves and if you want a smaller cc in the head, then just shave your heads too---dont forget to have the intake shaved to match. So, say you shave .020" off the heads, then you have to shave .010 off the intake sides.

    Hope that helps you!!!
