Ok where do I get the correct large clip on body nuts and the bolts with the extra large washers that go on the bottom of the front fender . I would like to use all new bolts for the fenders, hood springs , coresupport ect . Also which supplier has the best core support bushing kits . I have some that appear to be very different . 1 set has the top cap with a built in washer and the other has a large seperate washer . What about the height of these ?

Cars in NJ has the best core support mount rubber mounts and cushions with the molded in washers.

cushions with molded in washers were original type. Do not use the seperate ones as they are junk and collapse under torque.

    Bolts / Bushings

Bill- Are the fender bolts you have the same as a fullsize '72?

Dave- Are the radiator mount bushings from CARS the good ones?
I'm swapping my front clip and would like to replace these at the same time.
    Thanks.

So the mount bushings are best from cars ? And the bolt kits from the chev guys ? I have set of chev mounts and the core suport bushings are nothing like a Buick .

John, Cars does sell the closest to stock core support bushings. They also fit all the other mount postitions as well. The ones in the kits with the loose washers are junk. AMK sells the high quality original stylle bolts for most mount positions although I have not been able to find the correct bolts for the core support position. I think the original core support bolts were the only ones without the large washer type shoulder. It looked more like a motor mount bolt with a normal hex head.

I went to the site for AMK and found Chev kits . Is that what everyone is using ? I am guessing there are some extra and some special Buick stuff thats not there ? I have sopme original mount bolts in very good shape so I will be reusing them . I plan on trying to find matching ones as I only have them from 1 car and I have 3 projects . Thanks for the info

John, I do not know what is in AMK's kits but the correct body bolt for most locations is on page #26 of AMK's catalog at the bottom of the page and is part number B-11629 which is also GM part #3902232. If you check a Assembly manual on the body mount page you will see that part number which is used on the car under the firewall and several other locations. This is the only place I have ever seen these correct bolts for sale. I need to order a bunch as well. I think the core support bolt is a different length bolt.
You are probably better off ordering these in the packs of 6. Body mount bolts I ordered from someone else were generic gold bolts with washers. I could have bought those at the local hardware store. :Dou:

amk dosent have a kit for the buicks, youll have to order the bolts you need.

yes the bolts are the correct plating, and are also correct for head bolt pattern and correct centering tip. which alot of the other repo bolts dont have.

AMK also sells locking nuts that are similair to the originals used at the firewall positions although not same part #. If you use regular bolts and nuts they will loosen up on their own like they did to me.
