Howdy. I am looking for a good picture of the routing of plug wires using the stock plug wire retainers. I have a four wire one and want to see what the other one looks like and how they came routed from the factory (or something close) Any help would rock. Thanks:beer
Here is one side. The four holer retainer goes to the front; three or two to the rear. Rear cylinder wires on top. The other side is basically the same deal.
yea as I thought. some previous owner has the valve covers correct, but the a/c side he has the forward retainer on top of the valve covers not on the bottom. The back one is right but just wanted to make sure. Thanks!!
Okay, this is going to sound really stupid, but how do you attach the retainers to the stud on the valve cover bolts? I had no idear that that is what those studs were for until I read this thread. I have the retainers, but they weren't attached to the studs. And I couldn't figure out why they had those studs on there instead of regular bolts.
There's a pair of seafoam green painted spark plug wire covers on eBay for $46 - Kent WA ? Anyone we know ? They aren't show quality - look like a little scruffy, but apparently no dents or burnt-off ends . . . Also, last week I bid on a pair at $145 asking - chromed - in real nice shape. But owner got stuck at $119. Too much for my budget. My engine has no chrome right now, but I want to dress it up just a little. Even plain painted wire covers - well they would look nicer than just the wires . . . Maybe I'll get one of those shiney pulleys for my fanbelt ? 'Da Rip Rohring :Comp: :Comp:
There's a pair of 1957 spark plug wire looms on e-bay right now. 4 holes in each one - look like club feet ? Need clean-up - but look intact . . . F Y I Rip Rohring :Comp:
