What is recommended? Have a customer wanting to change the plugs on his car and wants to explore options..A/C, Champion, etc. Can't remember what I used to use on these engines!

NGK FR5 V power is what I run in my BBB with TA Stage Ii SE heads.

Yeh, I know about this! Gotta use gasket plugs. Anyone using a Champion plug? If so, part number?

Another vote for NGK FR-5. It is a projected nose plug, which positions the gap deeper into the chamber, and in theory, has a wider heat range. The heat range approximates an R43TS plug. NGK plugs have plated threads, which is a big plus in aluminum heads, no anti seize necessary.

The champion plug is more expensive,

    5 is a hot plug. I’d look at -7s.
    For racing even -8s.

I use the NGK 7173 in mine, I like the smaller 5/8 size

No, it's about a 43 heat range in AC Delco. That's colder than the stock plug.

Thanks for the help, guys...I will pass this info on. This is a street car, about 10-1 and never gonna see a dragstrip likely.

FR-5 for sure then. Ask Jim Weise what he uses in most of his engine.

I recommend a ngk, heat range is based on COMPRESSION. Anyone recommending a plug without asking that question is just throwing suggestions out there. Everybody's motor is probably different, ask a real engine person a hotter plug will detonate faster than a colder plug

The ideal plug is the coldest plug that doesn't foul.

Use the FR-5 NGK stock number 7373 for NA applications up to 11-1 compression.

Use the NGK R5672-8 , stock number 7173 for engines above 11-1, or all boosted/nitrous applications.
