I used the split fire plugs. But they weren't split??? Maybe they were bosch or something I dont remember to long ago. They were I believe 2 or 3 bucks a piece. Gap them around .33- .35

As crazy as it sounds the best plug you can get is going to be an autolite 25 in your engine. They will burn clean and give you good performance. Now I say best because of the reasons above and they only cost about a $1 a piece. Your next best choice is NGK. I like these because they have a silver end around the porciline that is easy to read when you pull them out. They have a V cut in the electrode. I don't know if it really helps or not but you can call NGK and they will tell you the right plug to get in the right heat range. They cost around $2 a piece. Gap them at .035 and you should be set.

    Darius,

It depends what ignition you have. Points, HEI or aftermarket.
