If any of you have read my recent postings on the rear control arms on my 65 riviera you'll know i've discovered there are two types of bushings for the rear control arms; standard 2.4" bushings that everyone has in stock for around $10 each or the not so standard longer bushings that are about 3" long. The bushings are much longer indicating a much wider control arm than normal. Cars Buick in NJ was the only ones to point out this optional longer bushing and one was later found in the NAPA "rare parts" section of their parts bin. NAPA and CARS both price these bushings at $85 each...thats 8X the price for one thats 1" longer...WOW. So, here's the question; Did the Riviera Gran Sport cars have the larger (wider) rear control arms? This car was built March 1965 in Flint so its no oddball. It has what appears to be the factory 3.42 posi rear end and does not look like its ever been apart. comments?
