If you want an original aluminum unit, go with GM. TCI's are very inexpensive, but they are made of plastic. I use TCI's, but I've broken two removing them from the tranny housing. I also use TCI for drive and driven gears.

Good info Rick :TU: I was unaware that the sleeves were plastic. Much better to go with GM ones. Don't know which sleeve he needs, but the one that takes the 40-45 tooth gears is GM part # 1362293. www.gmpartsdirect.com lists it for 25.99, but they have a hefty shipping/handling charge. I would check my local GM dealer.

That is what I would do. 44 tooth gear is Gray, GM part # 9780470. The Sleeve is 1362293.

original GM always the best. I got some new gears last year from GM and they came two to a box and were dirt cheap.

Hey guys I went to my local tranny repair shop and they had a box of good used ones, I found the one I needed and paid only $5.00 for it!
    Check your locals out!
    Good luck.
