Does anyone have a speedometer gear that goes in the tranny? I put a new speedometer cable in and believe the speedo works. Are they different for different rearend gears? I'm running 3.08's Thanks for any info or help.

    Johnno,
You need to know your rear gear ratio(3.08), the height of your tires in inches, and the number of teeth on your speedo drive gear. The speedo drive gear is on the output shaft of the trans. It turns the driven gear. You change the driven gear for different tire gear combos to keep the speedo accurate. You can pull the speedometer gear sleeve out of the trans, and count the number of teeth on the drive gear, while turning the driveshaft. (rear wheels off the ground, trans in neutral). Once you know the above numbers, it's a simple calculation.
