It appears that one is "dark saddle" and the other one is "light saddle" definitely not sandelwood.
The steering wheel/ column and dash (color) should match.

Unfortunately, my steering column is also black like the sport wheel. I'll have to wait until the car gets here next week to take a better look at the Sandlewood dash as photos can distort colors. Compatibility info says my dash, wheel and column should be "medium Beige".

    Ray,
I have the correct colour spray cans mixed from autocolorlibrary.com - TCM?
Sent them the filler piece from under the column as a match.
Can't ship the cans but I can certainly send you the mix/recipe numbers.
    Let me know.

I had posted a couple pics last year after my floor shift & console install. Those colours are correct. Can't find them since the site crashed. The post is still there but no pics.

The wheel I have is 16" Sandalwood. What you see in the pics is all I have. The horn button is not a match but goes with the wheel. The grain on the wheel is worn. I paid $300.00 for it and that is what I'm asking. I own a 1970 Stage1 with Sandalwood interior and wheel matches my dash. I had planned on using the wheel in my car but have decided to keep mine factory original.

    Thanks Alan,
I'll step aside until Ray makes a decision as this was his thread. Should he pass I'll take it.

Thanks for the courtesy, Steve. You can have the wheel as mine is a '71 and I need the 15 incher.

Thanks, Steve. Please PM me the mix/recipe numbers. Does that mean only Autocolorlibrary can reproduce that color or will another company be able to? So, they actually sent you spray cans of the Beige color?

Somebody else has a post on here recently about aerosol cans from TOWER paint, that was supposed to be a dead-on match. Kind of hard to cross link. Will edit. Got it. here.

    Ray,
I'll post the recipe here so others can search, if needed, in the future. Any one can likely reproduce the colour but I've had great service from these guys. I received 6 spray cans of the paint in the correct colour/sheen. Might pay to talk on the phone with them as I don't think this was a part of their original selection.

I'll second Steve's advice. I used this code when ordering from the company and the dark sandalwood color matched perfectly for the tissue dispenser, 8-track player, and console I painted for my '71.

    I use:

    Ray,
The '71 with Sandalwood is a hardtop?
Check the condition of your rear seat cover. I have a screaming deal on a new Legendary cover, still in the bag. Bought new interior for mine, noticed later the back seat cover was perfect & left it alone.

Thanks. I'll be bringing the car back Thursday and will let you know Friday if I want to redo the back seat. The interior is supposed to be really good but, we'll see. Can you PM me with the "screamin deal price"?

Just spoke with a sales rep at TCP. He tells me that the paint is min. order of 1 qt at $131/qt plus $9.00 for each spray can + shipping. Does that sound right? Also, that color, although light brown is not the color their chart shows for a '71 Skylark/GS steering column. Their chart for that Buick trim code says it should be "Dark Beige" which is Ditzler code 23433. Buick's wholesale order form for the Sandlewood interior also says the steering column, wheel, and dash should be Dark Beige. Although similar, Dark Beige and your custom color formula are slightly different. How did you arrive at your color formula?

    Where is this "thumb" rest?

    Ray,
I originally bought their "stock" mix for that car & it was off. After a telephone call I ended up sending them the under column filler to use as a match.
They told me to keep what they sent the first time & replaced it all no extra charge. I took the recipe directly from the sample card they sent with the order.
New mix was perfect. Chris Gullo (V8Sky) also ordered this mix & was quite happy.
Identical to the pic of the wheel Alan has for sale.
Price sounds about right. I paid that again in duties/customs fees by the time it was in my hands. The US dollar was very high at the time too.
