I was at the shop yesterday and the car is running. The vaccum is still lower than I would expect for a stock low compression engine. 13 to 15 inches. Seems like there is still something off to me. When you start to accelerate the rpms the vaccum goes up not down. That tells me the cam is retarded or the timing mark is off. The readings were taken at 650 rpm with vac adv disconnected. Still need to do some tuning for the best idle and vacum but the car sounds good now and idles. The idle will go up because its supposed to be 650 in drive. Now to get the bill paid for OUCH

Mike I am afraid to take any pics until after I pay my bill. I don't want to throw my new camera at anyone. I am going over there tonight.

So I got the call yesterday while I was at the firehouse. The car has been test driven and I can come get it but now I have to make an appointment to do so. I still have no idea of the cost of this fiasco.

They test drove it not put all together?

Does it have the front fenders and hood on it now?

Drove it down a side street with no glass, fenders, hood. Yeah I was surprised too. I am guessing he was making sure the car would pull itsself before giving it back. I'll check to see if there are any thin posi marks from my roll around tires.

Car is at the top shop getting its new headliner, top and slider cover installed. I found an oil leak and now the brakes are screwing up. Looks like another trip back to the shop for fixing. After the body is assembled. I showed a spot on the door I dod not like and Dave the owner of the shop promptly picked at it and removed a spot of paint. Looks like its got to get some paint repair. The top is going on first just in case. Now I am worried that they did not fix the NOS fender alignment like I asked. I'll know this week I believe. The top was going to be photographed today but when I got there my batteries were toast. I am heading back down tomorrow with fresh ones:) Its coming together I just am going to have to make sure I get all the paint stuff fixed before I pick it up

So its been a while and the car is finally at the top shop. Here are a couple taken during the assembly of the new headliner and top assy. This is his first Suncoupe and he is doing a great job.

Today is wednesday the 8th and the car should be back at the body shop today! I am going back out to see the finish product and try the roof out today
I am getting hopeful that the car will be ready by BPG But it might be  debuted at the Foreest Park Easter show.

    Looks great John. :TU:
Are those the original bow end/slider caps, or are those replacements? Several of mine are either missing or damaged, and I need to find replacements.

Is that the breather your going to use? That is not correct is it?

No I have the correct one but for transporting I wanted something on the carb
just to keep junk out. I am restoring the original breather. Also the top molding is already done and waiting to be installed at the body shop. The top guy used gloss paint on these.
