In order to make my 67 Sportwagon a bit nicer I discovered there are two piece of stainless trim that I need. One is the left vertical piece (drivers side) at the windshield that snaps in covering the windshield edge. See photo Second piece I need is the lower rear trim stainless on the passenger side behind the rear wheel opening. See photo and diagram below. Not sure if this piece is the same for Skylarks four doors, two doors, or even larger Buicks of 1967. Not many Sportwagons out there so the piece may be difficult to find. Had the original one looked at today and it is not repairable by my stainless guy. He says it is 'flash chromed' by GM and the deep ruts will need to be fixed by a chrome shop. In looking at a lot of photos of Skylarks including convertibles they all seem to have the piece on them so I am asking again, anybody out there have a parts car that might have this piece on it? Thanks in advance for any help available.
Call Mark Polastry in Elgin Tx. @512 303 0833 Hw should be able to help you. No web site, works old school on teleohone.
Chuck I may be able to help you out with the windshield trim, I will check the condition of it and let you know and I haven't forgotten about the lens and slider either.
Hey Chuck this is what I have it is from a 67 hardtop but should fit? There is a couple of pry push marks on the side edge of the one you want but I think a stainless guy can smooth out the top pretty easily. I would prefer to sell the left and right together for $25. Plus shipping I also can do the lens and slider for 35. Let me know if this works for you.Hopefully the pictures come through
Hi Chuck. I think the shape of the windshield and the rest of the roof on the wagons was frozen in 1965. If I am correct you could use 64-65 Special or Skylark or wagon windshield trim. It has been years since I have worked on a wagon, so I could be wrong.
Chuck shipping is $30 for a expidited parcel with tracking information. Do you still have my paypal info. Thanks Gary
Hi Chuck I'm on the wrong side of the border to ship USPS and Canada Post is not requiring documentation or charge border fees like UPS or FedEx. They have a good service for a decent price. They won't do ground service outside of Canada anymore because of mail fraud. I included the two bottom window trim pieces as well. If you still want the package it's $90 total paypal is 67skyhiggins@gmail.com Thanks Gary
Hi Chuck, Here is the tracking information CX592080805CA www.canadapost.ca is where you will find the information Thanks, Gary
Gary, the stainless arrived today and it is very nice, but, the vertical pieces do not fit. They have a different radius so they will not fit the wagon. Top pieces are fine. I guess I am going to have to find a Sportwagon to get the right pieces. Thanks for your efforts. I will see if they will fit my convertible or coupe.
I wasn't totally sure they would fit that's why I had the question mark at the end. Hopefully they will fit one of your other cars. Glad this box arrived safely.
