I'm looking for an set of standard pistons for my motor. The original motor was replaced many moons ago and it has a new 71' motor (like one of the motors that show up on EBay every once in a while), but now has the 8.5:1 (or maybe it was 8:1) pistons. I'm looking to bring this motor back up to the stage 1 specs, as I still have the original stage 1 heads. The motor only has 275 miles on it, but is dismantled, sitting on a stand, waiting for head work and suspension work, along with the core support to be finished, so this sounds like a good time to get some pistons.
no such thing as a special stage 1 piston. all stage 1 cars had stock pistons. call TA asd order a set of stock 70 replacement pistons.

Thanks Bruno, I will send you a PM in a minute. GSXER, I had an offer from moleary on a .030 oversized set, you might want to contact him to see if you guys can work something out. I'd have taken them, but I need a standard size set, as my block is like new and is barely broken in. The honing lines are still very visible. It had a valve train issue, so I took the heads off and then I figured that I'd freshen up the gaskets, since the motor sat from 1981 until 2004, with only 177 miles put on it during that time. So while I was doing that, I thought "Well, I might as well try to find a set of 10:1 pistons since I've gone this far, and that would give me huge number of cams to choose from when I put I all back together", so here I am. :laugh:

I really dont need rods but have good set I could just swap with you..instead of messing with pressing them off
Scott, I'm not sure if I can locate the phone number, but a few years back I talked to a guy with a set of 8 nos TRW standard forged pistons. These were the older, higher compression version, not the deep dish like the current L2353F. At the time I think he wanted $400. Tim tcarson@vcn.com
