Just this morning the staple shifter broke on my 69 GS, it broke at the bottom where it bolts into cable bracket. Any place that has these in stock? Would a Chevelle staple shifter fit and work?

I think I have a complete one out of a 69 Camaro. If it is the same and you are interested, let me know.
    Thanx & good luck.

Not interchangable with the slightly similar-looking Chevy models

    Hi Nick

Thank you, I though that they were slightly different, I think ours are taller and narrower than the Chevy ones.

To date, I have had no luck locating a horseshoe (staple) Shifter for my GS350, every time there is one for sale out of a Buick that is being parted out by Members. They go like hot cakes. No one reproduces these. Being made out of pot metal and breaking at the mounting point, the bolt holes,
    is a major problem.

Just an idea, consider installing the 70-2 version. Since your upper half is broken (shifter handle is upper), consider getting one from a 73-77 Century/Regal. They use the same upper half as the 70-2 Skylark models.

    Thanks George

I have considered it, just hard trying to locate one. One of the vendors is taking a poll to try and produce these. Just hope he gets enough demand to start, marketing these handles.
