Starter - Solenoid Connections - 2 or 3?

    Just pulled the starter out of the Regal.. I had to cut the Y-pipe!! :eek2:

    Ah well, I'll be getting headers soon enough.


    Anyway, there were only wires on two terminals on the starter solenoid. The solenoid (both the old and new) have three terminals where wires could attach? Should I just attach the wires to the new solenoid, exactly like the old one? Just dont know why there would be three terminals (Battery, Switch, and? ). Perhaps its just because its a somewhat universal starter... Just want to double check with the pros first!

    hook it up like it was.the "R" terminal is not used in later model(hei)years.it puts spark back to the coil for better starting:beers2:

    I just didn't want to put it back how it was, and have to rip it out again!
