It really IS a wake-up call for all of us. We never know when our time is up, so we really do need to enjoy every day that we have here. If any of us are trying to decide whether or not to attend any Buick events or do ANYTHING that we want to in our lives, don't put it off. Tomorrow may never come.

    I'm stunned

I met Steven less than a week before this at the Norwalk event. I made a point to have him autograph a copy of the engine book that I bought from him. He seemed like a very nice guy.

I would be interested in participating in any type of memorial that could be set up to benefit his wife and kids.

    condolences...

I too met Mr. Dove at the Norwalk event. I had parked my car behind his table for the car show, and he saw me take a copy of his book out of my car for sake of discussion. He came up and introduced himself, and we talked for sometime, about the cars and my purchase of his No. 1 leatherbound book via ebay. His passion for these cars was most evident in every word.

A considerable loss to the buick community.

i too am stunned to hear of this. i met him last year at bg and he was a real nice guy to talk to. sad, very sad news. it would be nice if we can take up a collection for his kids education. 49 years old, thats sad.

the last funeral i went to, the preacher said, if you got something you want to do in life, you best go on and do it because you never know how much time you have on this earth. so true.

    John,

Thanks also for letting us know. Very sad to hear this, my heart goes out to his family.

We should all be aware of how fragile our lives are and in an instant how things can change. Please everyone when driving to and from any long distance or short distance Buick events, drive carefully and drive smart. You always have to watch the other guy.

John best of luck with BG and hope everyone makes it there and back safely.

A loss not only to the Buick community, but to humanity. Steve was a great guy and enjoyed talking to him at the events. Will be missed. May God comfort his family and speed Cheryl's recovery to be with their children. Our prayers go out to them.

I never met him, although I do have a signed first edition of the black book. Since I've been here in Houston everytime something was set up where we would have met something came up for one or the other of us. I hate that I never got to meet him.
Thanks for posting this, John. I posted a link on the Houston club e-mail list.
We should have a memorial of some sort at BG.

The information about Steve as listed is correct, but I can't grasp this as yet.
Steve has gone through MANY personal & Family situations over the past years, much is unknown outside of a few, and he and I had spoken about some new projects he was working on just prior to this trip, which was to include Norwalk & BG, Possibly even attending Quaker in August
I have tried to reach the family here in Houston directly, but the phones are not in service
I will post any additional information to this board if I find any more information from Houston.
