Ok not really an electrical question cause this one is mechanical but didn't know where to post. So here it goes. Was cleaning the parts loft a while back and ran across a set of 60's era SW Greenline gauges (man these are really cool). Asked Pop what they came out of and was told they came off his 67 GS when he traded it in, in 72. So problem is that my wonderful dear old dad just cut off the gas filled tube for the temp. Does any one know where this could be fixed, or converted to an electrical temp set-up? would really like to run these cause the 4 gauge cluster w/vacuume is a dead on ringer (color wise) for a stock Buick gauge, ESPECIALLY right next to a 67 tach.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Jake,
I don't think that can be fixed easily. The lines are sealed with an ether gas that expands and contracts with temperature. Once you cut them, that's it. Try contacting SW, they may be able to refurbish it for you. Electrical gauges are all together different. I don't think you can convert one to the other.

    repair

Got on the SW web site:
Their line- we no longer repair our gauges
Nice to have a company stand behind their product.:moonu:
Went by my local speedo shop and they just laughed. searched the internet and came up with some speedo/gauge repair shops that might be useful.:Do No: Just wondering if any one has gone down this path before? I'd just replace it except they (SW) stopped making this design years ago (read in-before I was born).

Jake, You might try taking a new [or used] guage and put the old face on it . It would be difficult but not impossible. The biggest obsticlal would be getting the ss bezel off the front. This is the kind of thing I find myself doing often, coming up with something nobody ever heard of. remember, if the factory dont make it the only way you can have it is make it yourself.
