Looking for a new stage one fuel pump.
Mine is going caput, spewing out the weep holes?

Or they are all sold out.
I was on that website before I posted this. I'll check it out again. Thanks.

Robbs are $218?! Higher quality I suppose? I'll probably buy one.

What are stage ones selling for?

I think the stage one fuel pump I got that's in my car now was around $100. That was four years ago tho.

250-350 for a stage1 pump when they pop up

Wow. That's crazy how much they went up. Ok. I'll get one of Robbmc's then.

Cheaper fix than what my dad has to fix!

You're better off with the RobbMc pump, especially if your build is modified. You'll never have to worry about fuel delivery.

I have one here that I'm planning on trying this year. I have his sending unit, too. I felt like my car ran out of umph top end last year and hopefully this pump does the trick.

I've never seen anyone post negatively about these pumps and his customer service is great.

As an aside: Stage 1 pump prices are absurd. The last one I got from TA a few years ago was around $35. Has Mike started carrying them again?

The stage one I bought years ago was from a member on here, I'm pretty sure

    Well, then there you go.

I've read a ton of good things about Fred Ballard being the go to guy when it comes to rebuilding crimped pumps. He's out of Canyon Country, CA.

Perhaps I'll send the one I have here to him and see how it comes out.

I actually sent him an email last year when I hacked up one of the nuts the fuel line screws into (don't ask) and he told me to call him.

Cook ended up selling me his extra, so I didn't bother but maybe I'll reconnect with him next week and see what he says.

Is this pump just a switch out or are there extra parts needed to make his pump work?

I have a Holley double pumper carb. Setup below 17130549040445620967009219737150.jpg

I'm sure my dad can figure it out, but doesn't hurt asking questions to do it myself

Im more of a "picture book" plus explanation type of person. I just saw the threaded hole in the side of the Robbs and right away thought that's different.

I've only started playing with cars 2 years ago

Rob includes all the info as it relates to extra parts & making it work in his instructions.

However, if you plan on using a steel line, I think the bottom part that sticks out toward the radiator would have to be lengthened.

I grabbed these pictures from Bob Gibbs' post on Facebook.

    No problem.

All you need is a good tubing bender and flarer, as well as a few feet of steel line, an original line (template) and patience.

It's likely there would be quite a bit of "mock fitting" between the pump & carb to get it close to factory appearing but it's definitely doable.

Plus, you want as much steel in that area as possible, so that's a factor as well.

Jeremy..pull that chrome case filter off ASAP! Those things are NOTORIOUS for falling apart inside..will put you in the pits or on in a parking cleaning out the carb

Get a screw together stainless mesh style...they are like $30 ...can get barbed or AN which ever...and I would put it off the intake it will heat soak and boil the fuel on the intake

I believe I bought a Holley fuel filter that was recommended for the fuel log I bought. So those are garbage?

They are unfortunately....the wix brand like that are fine but those chrome ones are nothing but an issue waiting to happen
