Hello all, I am still having my stumbling problem. I replaced the fuel filter and fixed a suspect wire going to the neg side of the coil. I had a lot of trouble getting it to start, it would turn over, fire immediately, then die immediately. It would not hold idle. I finally got it running and it sounded good. I took it out and this time it stumbled off idle but still accelerated through the rpms. Then I stopped and it died, it started right back up and stumbled intermittently through 3k rpms then I stopped and it died again. What do you all think? carb, fuel pump, distributor, or maybe the ever popular bad ground connection somewhere?? o No: This is really annoying as it ran perfectly up until last week. -Chris
Ok...since we switched threads I am not sure what all we have done. Have you verified fuel pressure and volume yet? Mike
Thanks for the suggestion Mike. Uhh... I have never had to check fuel pressure before, how would I go about doing this? And what pressure should I be getting? -Chris
You will need some kind of "T" adapter to go inline betwwen the carb and the pump, that will have a fitting for your fuel pressure gauge. Check out you local parts place, they should have something to fix ya up. I think the fuel pressure should be 5-6 lbs for the 350. I have seen as high as 8lbs........ You should also have good volume.....should be able to fill a pop bottle in about 20 seconds. although with a mechanical pump its a bit tougher to keep it running and bleed anything off. Mike
