Since I no longer modify the factory stock steel 455 oil pans, I'm going to be selling my inventory of stock pans. I have 5 total to sell at this time. 3 are very clean and in very nice condition. Two of them are dirty ) as taken off the engine). One of those looks to be in real nice shape, the other has a few more dings & dents. All are pretty much rust free and should be completely usable. The clean ones are numbered in the pictures and the dirty ones we'll call "left & right pans".

    The clean ones (1, 2 & 3) are $100 each
The dirty one with less dents $65
The dirty one with a few dents $50

Shipping will be extra on each, unless you want me to bring them to B.G. in October. I'm in Wisconsin.
These pans are for sale in other locations, which means they could be sold at any time.

Hi Steve, I’d like to get inline for pan number one. Do you know if there was any design change throughout the 455 years? I need one for a 1970. Also do the drain plug threads look good on #1 ?
I’m currently in Mexico but i might be able to get my son who lives in Germantown WI now to pick up and pay you, otherwise do you know how much shipping woul be to Plainfield ILL? Thanks. Bill Sales.

    Bill,
I just looked at the threads and they are like new. I know for a fact that there are several different dies or maybe different manufacturers that were used because there definitely are subtle differences. I really doubt too many people know the differences. Maybe Dwayne may know what year goes with what pan??

Shipping to Illinois should be about $22. I can ship it if you want, or if your son can drive up....that'll work Ok too.
Let me know how you prefer to get it.
    Thanks,
    Steve

Steve, thanks for the quick response and honest information. So as not to hold up the sale of these pans looks like I’ll have to pass until i get more information. I was hoping they were the same throughout the years. My car is an unrestored original so I really would like to get a correct pan. So I’ll bow out for now. Thanks again. Bill Sales.

    Bill,
If you can.....take some detailed pics of the front area where the angle transitions into the bottom of the front sump, etc. That's were most of the difference is. The rear of the pans pretty much look alike, except for the 430 pans without the cross over notch. Send me the pics and I'll see if any of them match. The differences are very subtle and may even vary within a given model year, depending on if the pans were made in different locations with different dies, (Multiple suppliers).

Steve, do you have one you feel is pretty much "pit free"?

Looking for one that would be nice and smooth for a frame off resto.

    If so, inline....

Are their ANY stampings or part numbers on these?

Todd, I think that one of the first 3 would be good. In order to be 100% sure I guess they'd need to be stripped. I've handled a LOT of these pans over the years and these are some of the best I've had.....minus NOS.

I've never seen a part number on any of them. Then again, I never had any reason to look for one. I can take a look, but it won't be until Sunday as tomorrow I'm not available. I'll check when I can and let you know.

If I am first in line can you pick what you feel would be the best one. Picking this up for a future Frame Off restoration so keep that in mind while looking them over.

Thank You - I appreciate it!

Ok Jason, I'll bring it with me to BG. PM me your cell number so I can call you when I'm there.
    Thanks!

This means all of the clean ones are spoken for/SOLD.

Two dirty ones are left...……….I believe one of those will clean up very nice...……… maybe both. I'll clean both of them up and see how they are.
