    69GS350 Just tryn to learn!

I have a 1969 skylark gs 350. The rear end is stock. What gears does it have in it? It seems the car has all the low end power anyone could ever need, but i have no 3rd gear.

So, what gears should i have back there now? What gears are recommended? This car is daily driven but no top end irritates me.

Standard was a 3.23. That is my personal favorite for a car also driven some on the open road that does not have a special tranny like a 200R.

You could always replace the 3:23's with stock skylark 2:56's which should be easy to aquire. This will give you more top end if that's what you're after?

I believe your car was the last year for the Super Turbine 300 trans which was a 2 speed so naturally you would not have a third gear.

The 69 GS350 should have the TH350 trans ( 3 speed ) the last year for the ST300 in the GS350 was 1968 If I remember correctly ( and I have one of each of these cars ) Maybe the trans is not working right either???>

    just my .02 cents

Super turbine 300 trans were made into 69. Th 350 trans were also made that year. If his is a 43437 I think it is a RP code engine and perhaps a JH code trans in which is a super turbine 300.

you couldnt get a st300 in a 69 GS350. only a th350. it is possible that somebody has swapped in a st300 for the original th350 as they are a direct bolt in.

Even if it was a ST300 :eek2: drive is still 1-1 in both transmissions so no differance in top end what so ever

Perhaps he can post a pic or all the numbers and letters on his cowl tag.
