When I tore down the 425 I had in my garage that ended up having the thrown rod, I found that someone had replaced the timing chain in the engine what looks like just a few miles before the engine blew up. The chain and gear set is obviously a stock one they bought at the dealer because it has the nylon toothed cam sprocket--and it looks brand new--just a light oil film and no wear/deterioation. It had no slack in it either--just like a new chain.
All this to say that I would love to sell it to someone that is doing a stock rebuild and would like an original chain/gear set. It is way too nice to throw away and I am building a performance engine and won't be using it. I will take $20 if someone would like to put it to good use.
I have pictures I can E-mail anyone if they are intersted--this site won't let me post them--says they are too big and I don't have any software to shrink them. Stonesautomotive@juno.com
