Can anyone tell me if stratomist blue will show off any Not so perfect body work? Im looking for a nice color for my 71 skylark 4 door and i know the body work isnt going to come out perfect but i did my best with what i had. Just wondering if stratomist will point out all the not to perfect spots. Now i dont mean to sound like the body is horrible. Its not that at all. I just spray the area that i just fixed up and then block sand it and if there isnt any bright red showing i go with it. So how will stratomist work for me? If not so good body work shows up in this color, What color "hides" it the best.

White hides the most flaws and black shows the most flaws.

Stratomist blue is a bright color, not a problem if the car is straight. here is a picture of my 71 GSx, it is stratomist blue with a black top.

You'll see flaws but I don't think it should stop you if that is the color you like. My Riv has such long panels, and the bodywork I had done is pretty good, but if you look long and hard enough you'll see a flaw here and there.

But mostly people are busy looking at the color. I'm awfully fond of stratomist blue. :)

Also remember the owner of a car sees WAY more than anyone else will.

Paint it whatever color you like and just enjoy the car :3gears:

And yes, anything other than white is going to show imperfections in the body work. The lighter the better off you are, the darker you go the more waves you'll see.

    Less Gloss...

I think that med hue colors would work best. Although you may want to try a final finish leaning more towards satin. Thats how I'm going to do my '65 Sky (Astro Blue Poly-white top). The body is OK, but I havent the money or time to do a "restoration" type of job. Besides thats exactly what a garaged, lacquer SoCal car would look like after 40 years.
    Best of luck,

I shot my car with CAscade Blue Code 24 and it was pretty forgiving in flawed areas. I would use it again for sure. You can get the Omni brand pretty cheap. Look under my profile for threads started and youll see a few photos of the color.
