I am working on stripping my GN to bare metal. What about the front header and rear taillight areas that are painted? I think that chemical stripper would be bad on non metal surfaces. Any input would be appreciated.

Don't use metal stripper on any soft parts. If the paint is still good on the soft parts, just use a scotch brite to rough the surface. The paint and primer that goes on them, are different than metal. There is a flex agent added to the paint for soft parts.
