    HI guys,
How reliable is a 494 on the street and the strip on a regular basis? Is it worth the money? and will it be a advantage over
a 455 built the same way? The bottom end of my 455 been together for over 10 years and I want this engine to stay together just as long.

The 494 will typically make more torque than a comparable.
455, so stress on the block would be more so than a comparable 455, not to mention, the offset ground crank.
I don't believe the 494 is designed for a long life deal. Jim Burek
