The sun visor in my 72 Wagon won't stay in the up position. Ofcourse I tried to fasten the screw, but that doesn't work...is there a trick?

I had the same problem - very common. I just used a <slightly> bigger screw. Now it stays up perfectly. There's also little sleeve inserts you can buy but they only helped a bit, that's why I had to go the bigger screw route.

Yup, that was my first angle of attack. They still fell down, maybe took three miles instead of one mile. They do help, but just a very little bit.........in my case anyway.

I removed a sleeve from a parts car and installed it, but it didn't do the trick either...:Dou:

btw: is it my PC? www.partsplace.com is very hard to reach without pop-ups...(got a pop-up blocker installed...)

Sometimes the shaft is turning in the visor - you may want to check that. Also, I've used a piece of solder in with the sleeve to firm it up. Be careful you don't break the mount by over tightening. And I've found that some repro sleeves are better then others, no surprise!
