It should probably have it's own thread.

I was thinking that same thing! Route 66 would definitely be a great place to have another pure stock/muscle car event!

I'll be there fri with the Poncho, hell could even drive it the 15 miles there. The only possible issue with Sat and it's the reason why I don't go to Route 66 for a TnT even though it's 15 miles away, it's so busy and you are lucky to get 2-3 runs in (and for $40). There have been times where a TnT wasn't attended by many and I have made substantially more runs. However, if we are going to get our own Sat "class" and/or "lanes" then I'd consider running the GT-37 there Sat also.

I'd say US41 (which is now called No Limit Raceway) considernig the 60s I've put down at this sticky track compared to the 60s others have put down at less sticky tracks, it would be REAL interesting to see what others who know how to launch a car can do.

Amenities, Route 66 has US41 beat hands down though

Yeah, Route 66 has toilets that work? :Do No:

66 gets its hook on, they just never prep it for TnT days. Most events, it hooks like a mofo. Though I'd have to say, they probably mixed VHT with the asphalt when they paved 41.

During the meeting @ Rt. 66 the staff kept emphasizing the fact that they could make the track hook with the best of them, and that we'd be following an NHRA event [a few weeks prior] that will only make a good thing better [hook]. As for host hotel, we're still working on that...we're ~500 miles away, and the day of the meeting we didn't have time to check out any of the area hotels...a couple locals initially offered to do some checking, but so far we've not heard anything back.

It might be new thread time...

There are several nice hotels off Harlem Ave/I-80 in Tinley Park and LaGrange Road/I-80 in Orland Park (it may be considered Tinley yet). They are a 30 minute ride from the track, but IMO the area is much nicer (and safer). Easy to get right on and off the expressway from there. Joliet is not as bad as it used to be... but it's still Joliet...

The Holiday Inn in Tinley Park is right off the express way and would have enough rooms for a host hotel. Also plenty of parking out in the lot. The address is
    18501 S Harlem Ave,
    Tinley Park IL 60477
    (708)444-1100
Might be a little far from the track but not a bad ride at all considering its mainly express way driving. Mapquest said it was 27 minutes 21 miles away.
