    Looks like an aluminum radiator is in my future. One of the options includes a built in oil-cooler....since my motor will get hard blocked and need an oil-cooler does it make sense to build it into the radiator or keep it seperate like the trans cooler?

    Thoughts?

    It would be a be cool unit....Have a life long friend who Know the group. They will build me what ever is needed. So.......

    Jim,

    Reason I ask is just to be sure that it is an engine oil cooler in the radiator, and not just a little trans oil cooler in a tank, like some have.

    If it can be built with -8 AN inlet and outlet fittings, and the tubes for the cooler are integrated into the actual core, and they think it won't seriously affect the primary function of the radiator (cooling the water) then I say go for it.

    It hasn't been mentioned yet. But for pusher fans, you may want to run a toggle switch inline with the thermostat switch, because unlike a puller, the pusher fans will actually block air coming through the radiator at highway speeds when the fan is on. When they are off they'll free wheel and air flow will be just fine. But if the thermostat control turns them on while you're cruising down the highway it'll be a self feeding bad situation as it'll go from hot to hotter.

    Lesson learned from a friend of mine in So. Cal. that added a pusher to help his mechanical in stop and go traffic, turned out to be bad when traffic was light and air temps were high. The bypass toggle switch solved it.
