gota couple questions. im going to put a th350 in a 65 skylark and i need to know if the 350 is the same length as a st300 and if the driveshaft will work. thanks everybody:beer
A minor rebending of the trans lines and it's a bolt in except you must make provisions for the detent cable. While it's out install a new front pump and tail housing seals to avoid leaks. Use the th350 convertor. Ray
thanks guys.:TU: i heard from a couple people that it was a bolt in but i figured i should ask the experts:laugh: now when you say the detent, what do you mean? im only used to building manuals so i dont know if they are the same. thanks:beers2:
hey, it the converter for your 300 any good? if so, would I be able to take it off of your hands? I'm in tahoe wes:TU:
The detent makes the trans kick down into a lower gear when you lean into or hammer the throttle, usually used for passing. The detent cable is located on the pass side of the trans, the other end mounts to the intake and carb. If you look at the th350 you'll see the cable or a hole for it. Ray
hell ill just make one of those if i cant find one in my junk pile:Brow: i think i have one of those somewere.:beers2:
Yes it is the same. The only Problems are the minor rebending of the lines at the trans., detent cable and linkage if you have a 2 spd st300 center console. Ray
the lines are no problem. im just worried about the yoke and driveshaft. ill probly do the swap this weekend if i put the engine in. thanks:beer
