This is the first of some stuff I will be selling over the next few months, for "stimulus funds" for my 1969 GS400 Endless Resto-mod. This is a "vintage" made-in-USA System 1 oil filter that I bought as the first filter for post-rebuild break-in on my 1970 351 Windsor. (Therefore it has the Ford adapter insert, but GM threaded pipe reducers are cheap online —about $5–or from Lowe's or Home Depot). The filter element has about 5000 miles on it. It is the 4-inch-tall model, so it gives lots of clearance in the engine compartment. Worked well for me but I am selling my Bronco, so I put a Fram filter on the engine. I tried to polish the filter housing but it still is dull in spots. The O-rings look fine, but you can order a set of new ones for around $10. New System 1 filters are going for around $200-$250 it seems, but I see there are Chinese clones for around $100 now. I am asking $100 for this one, and I will pay shipping to the Lower 48 states, and I will donate at least 5% of any sales to the forum as a thank-you. I may lower the price later if a C-note turns out to be too high. Thanks.

Taking 'er back to Page 1 to add that I have one of these filters on my '69 GS 400 as well, and I have liked being able to take it apart right off the engine whenever I want to inspect the element for unusual metal fragments that it has caught. (This is especially easy on a BBB as you know, thanks to the great placement of the filter that Buick's engine designers came up with. You can just reach under the hood and do a filter change, one of many reasons to love a Buick). Anyway, having a System 1 filter came in handy during break-in. I found a few metallic particles that hopefully were normal for a new engine, but if it worried me enough I could keep a sample and have it analyzed for type and amount of metal. Then simply rinse the stainless steel element and put it back together and you're ready to go again. They have a nice spring-loaded check-ball or bypass in there, too, for extra engine protection.
