I'm looking for a deal on a close ratio T-50. They were used behind V8 engines and IIRC had two grooves cut in the input shaft. Jim@BlackwoodLabs.com
Are you looking for a T5 from a Camaro or Firebird? I would highly recommend you look for another transmission. THe T5 is a notoriously weak and overall a piece of crap. Torque ratings were either 285, or 305 for a "world class" T5 that had a larger input bearing. I've personally witnessed 2 of these transmission blow up behind mild SBC. Not worth the money. Find a nice richmond.
Nope, I meant T-50. Ordinarily I wouldn't be looking for such a lightweight transmission, but it's a band-aid while I'm putting something better together. Jim
Unless he's working on a mid 80's Toyota, he is looking for a T-56. More info on the T-56 here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borg-Warner_T-56#Applications
Used in the mid 70's in mid sized GM's with V6's and small V8's (262 & 265 cu.in.) Borg Warner. 1st manual to use auto fluid as oil, 5 speed OD, had an oddball shift pattern. Jim
IIRC Vegas and Chevettes got those. Posssible some Monzas/H-bodies but all the ones I've owned were 4 speed Saginaws.
