I have not looked at my TA sp 1 intake with standard holley flange but is it possible to get a dominator to fit with some grinding? Or do I need to run an adapter? Height may be limited. I can sell my intake when I am ready to upgrade and buy the dom. intake. Thanks
Yes, you can machine it to accept a dominator, the main issue will be the bolt holes, the regualr Holley and dominator are too close together to simply redrill the holes. However, there is a 1/2 inchach adapter that comes with some funky looking offset bolts that would allow you to use the original holley pattern bolt pattern ands only add 1/2 inch in height. How much machineing? Can it be done with a diegrinder or maybe an end mill? I will look at Summit for the adapter. Can I weld in the holes and then redrill?
It can be done with a die grinder, but it takes awhile. It's easier with a bridge port. I'm not 100% sure, but TA may sell an adapter , about 1/2 inch thick that uses the narrower qj bolt pattern to bolt to the manifold, then has the dominator bolt pattern for the carb. Jim Burek
