Have received my new TA stainless stg1/2 valves. They are nice pieces with the undercuts and swirl polish. Has anyone put these into '74 heads b4? I have an idea on what to do, but if anyone has done this before and can help me, go the BBB!

    Hi Royden,

The same proceedures will apply for the '74 heads as well as the '72's you asked about in this thread...

According to that you said, your "'74" heads have round chambers? If that is so then you actually have either '75 or '76 open chamber heads. The '74 and prior had the same closed chamber but slightly increased volumes as the years went along. Still with open chamber heads the fitment of the Stage 1 valves will be the same but you will be giving up compression ratio and increasing the likelyhood of detonation due to the fact of having little-to-no quench with those open chambers.

    Hope this helps..:)

Yeh, sorry about that. I keep getting mixed up. The block is '72, not the heads. I will try and get a pic of the chamber. Don't have dig camera so may take a while.
