    Very cool.

I came close to buying 4V one many years ago from Gary....or Bary..Soapock(sp?)

Some Pontiac parts guy Sawruck used.

I'd like to race a '60 Starliner....that would be a fun match against the '59 Honcho Poncho

I'm trying to get a buddy to bring his 62 GP to Stanton. Not the same as this 59 Cat, I know. But the car is awesome. 389 tri-power, 8 lugs, auto. And he's won some awards at POCI with it. He's worried the trans won't hold up.

Good reason to park that Slim Jim Hydramatic and upgrade to a T350. Those things sucked.

    near by

Correct, cheap, very rare, and near by. Looks like the guy has a 61 also. Would be a challenge to fix the rust, but it runs, drives, and the trim and interior are there and doesn't look all that bad. Probably tough to find a rust free body, though.

Great investment for a down the road project, Brian....or how 'bout you, Pegleg? There aren't many of these around anymore. In fact, I don't think there were very many of these originally. Maybe he'd be willing to deal with giving him that Cruieomatic back. I'm sure you'd want a stick in it. Did they have 4 speeds inn 60? I remember lots of 3 on th tree cars. This one's a 352, but seems to me you could get a 390.

Very neat cars. My highschool girlfriend's Dad owned a Ford dealer in Landowne, Pa. (near Philadelphia). She and her Mom drove new Tbirds, but I recall there was one of these on the showroom floor when they first came out. Loved that new car smell back then. Now most just smell cheap.

However, no post is complete without an Oldsmobile highjack. Here's a "project car" on ebay right now that may present quite a challenge.

Bet Miller could do it, though!

Story is this thing slid into a pole in the 70's and has sat in a junkyard since. Considering it appears to have had a wreck previous to that (front clip was changed prior to the final wreck), it may need some serious frame work.

Just watched the bodyman that painted my 68 and 66 442's rebuild an early 90's Mustang GT convertible that was Tboned like this. You'd never know it today. It was hit harder than this one.

It's the real thing, too. F85 post

Terrain in the background tells a little more about the history of this poor car!

    Starliner

    Dave,
I'd love to do a '60 starliner. 352's were the biggest original engines, one was rated at 360 hp.Aluminum intake (there goes about 300 lbs) machined combustion chambers, but three speed columns like my '57. The tranny thing was ford's biggest problem, it's why everybody ran the automatics. I'd really love to see a lot more '50's cars. Even if only to explain to the "kiddies" that performance wasn't invented in 1964 by John Delorean.
Right now I don't have the time money or room to do one. but there's always a time.. :)
Where's the J-2's, or Chrysler letter cars, or the Fury's, or the 425-A Pontiacs, Or even one of the big bad 56/57 Chevy FI's or dual quad cars. I know there's a 'vette running, but where's the sedans? :puzzled: :
I think that'd add a lot of spectator interest to Stanton, Most of the people who go don't realize those cars ever existed.
