Anyone here know if the clamps Taylor on the bottom will fit on factory valve covers. It looks like they will just slip over the factory studs where the original wire separators would have been. Also, I got black Taylor wires. Do you think I should get black or red seperators. I think if I just got the seperators, then black, but if I also get those clamps, then red might look better since they would be on the red valve cover. I just noticed that my Summit receipt has a $15 gift certifcate code for being a new customer, so I figure I'll use it towards these items.

Those are neat, I did not know they had such a thing, I don't see why they won't work. Tom

I waw told by John Osborne that the seperators you find in the HELP section of an auto parts store are perfect for the Taylor wires when using the studs off the valve covers. I'm going to pick up some this afternoon in anticipation of getting my reworked Q-Jet and Taylor wires from JO! :TU: Should be here this afternoon! Yes, I'm stoked!

There's no hole on the long end to put over the studs on the Taylor units. I use them and like them but nothing for the valve covers.

I'm running the looms at the bottom of your pic there. They work with no problems with stock valve covers. You will be better off if you use the allen head screw they provide. I like the way they work and look. I bought a set of red looms with red wires that have been going strong on my car for about 4 or 5 years now. I'll be replacing them with black this spring as the red/red shows all the dirt and oil. You also should call Summit regarding the looms as I belive they are made by a company called "Made for You" and are a bit cheaper than the Taylor re-badged ones. Had to do a little "custom fitting" to get them to work with the aluminum valve covers but you can't see as long as they are in the car.

btw sorry if the pics are grainy but I had to resize way down to make the board happy.

    regards

It's good that you all realize any form of guide in metal is a NO-NO. Even with the best spiral or magna core insulated wires, some R/F leakage is always present, and metal guides just aren't the thing to use in attempting to keep it in cheque.

Here are some of the ones talked about from the HELP section(part #40286), fits like the stock ones but will hold a bigger wire.......also if you need a PCV grommet it in the help section also(part #42327 for a ford:grin: ), needs to be trimed a bit but fits like the stock one........

I used the MSD wire separators. I made a metal bracket to attach them under the valvecover bolts. Looks kinda stock.:Do No:
