    Hi Buick addicts,

i dont like driving without knowing my oil pressure and water temp. Especially on a classic car. So i will order a 3 gauges Autometer kit which will be discretly installed under my dashboard, under the radio but i want to keep factory idiot light on dashboard.

I have found some T-fittings on Summit (like this: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/kln-51414bt) to put 2 senders on the same location on the engine (1 sender for the Autometer gauge, the other for my factory idiot light). Do you know this T-fitting ? Is it reliable or it gives a false information to the sender ? There is not a lot of reviews about this product.

    Thank you !

The pressure/temperatur will be the same at both sides of the T, but you need a T where your sending unit screws into, not like the one you found that's for pneumatik/press in air hose.. [IMG]

You can buy a perfect "T" fitting in brass at any good hardware store like ACE or True Value and even Lowes . Sometimes its in the aisle that has all the drawers with the nuts and bolts and sometimes its in the plumbing section . You can get the oil pressure one with the MALE end to screw directly into the block and it will have the other 2 ports as FEMALE . Sometimes one of those ports is at a 45* angle that makes it easier to hook up . A lot cheaper than Summitt

There is more than one way to do that for oil pressure. The opening for oil pressure is 1/4 NPT. Most Gauge senders are 1/8 NPT. You want to keep it as compact as possible so that you have the best clearance possible. What I would do is use a male 1/4 to female 1/8 NPT like this,

    Then a Tee like this,

As far as coolant, tees won't work and aren't practical. Use one of the two 1/2 NPT openings at the front of the intake manifold. That usually involves eliminating a thermo-vacuum switch, which you don't need anyway.

Take a look at the Gauges FAQ thread. Some good info in the recent posts there as I and another member just did it ourselves

I second Larry, just didn't know what fittings are called in english..

You could use something like this picture, to your water temp..

I did something similar to Larry, but I used a Y for oil:

My block has the oil mods so it's 1/4 pipe. Rather than use an adapter for the 1/8 pipe sender, I just used Mopar sending unit for the idiot lite.
