Hey all, I was wondering if anyone is running the 2.75 1st and 1.57 gear ratio in there TH-350 or 400. If so, how do you like it and with what gear ratio? Did it make a big difference? I'm considering this to get a little more bottom end grunt as I'm running a 12 bolt with a 3:31 gear when I get this thing rolling. Any thoughts, thanks in advance. Jim
69GS400s runs a low gearset on his 69. He has a 3.08 12bolt. Some say they are a little weaker than the stock planetaries. Other than the cost and strength factor, there are no downsides.
I picked up .02 in the 60 ft but lost that much on the 1-2 shift due to the bigger gap and the fact that I short shift at 5500. Never broke it....ran 10.40s.
