    I've got both transmissions 350 and 400.
I'm trying to determine which is the better trans to rebuild.
    Currently it's got the TH350 behind a BBB 575hp/575tq
    Strip/ Street_69 Skylark.
Any and all experience is appreciated.
    Thanks!

both can be built up for that hp, but i'd go with the th400 personaly..more stought then the th350, and dont let anyone tell you the th400 will suck 75 hp or w/e the bs is

it'll take more hp to turn due to more rotating mass but you wont know the difference

I run a 350 behind my BBB motor (I only race the car) and thats all I have ever run even when it had a BBC motor. The BBB motor makes 543 hp and 557 lbs torque and runs 6.70's at almost 102 mph in the 1/8th mile. My car weighs 3105 empty/3305 with me on board. Good luck in your decision.

    I like hearing that.
    How do you launch it?
    Thanks-

I just foot brake mine and launch about 2500 rpm. The 60' is usually a 1.46-1.47 with ET Street tires (13.50X30X15) and the transmission in drive (shifts about 5350 rpm) and my best ET is 6.73@101.90 mph. I'm sure my car would go 6.60's with slicks and the mufflers removed but it doesn't really matter as I only bracket race it.

    Don't forget the 350 Turbo has a lower 1st and 2nd gear ratio.

yea i forgot...well numericly lower anyways..
it also seems like it has the better spread of gears
    but yea, just to restate
th400 will be more reliable stock and built up it'll be more reliable for less $$$

    my 2cents:beers2:
