Just got back from Stanton, rain rain go away, again we had a good time. Met some old friends and hopfully made some new ones. Thanks to Dan, Bob, track crew, all the participates, spectators who waited in their cars till we finally got to race, and anyone else that I forgot.
Bob Jr. kept racing, he got in five races, till he went from a 13.5 to a 14.?
Where did all the SC/Ramblers come from? May be time to get something different.
See you all at Martin! Bob and crew

Does anyone know the dates for next year? Someone told me September 17, but thats a Thursday. Need to get a room.

    Thanks

Ill 2nd that THANK YOU to Bob, Dan and staff. :beer Talk about sticktoitiveness!! I was geeked for this event. We had to be 125 diehard enthusiasts to deal with this friggin MONSOON weekend! Ive never seen such a wall of water falling coming back south on I75 this morning.

It was good seeing some old faces there and kudoos to the chefs Donny and, boy am I lousy on names but he was parked in the back of the Comfortable Inn and graciously offered his choice ribs...melted in your mouth like cotton candy!! Thanks also to Ken Reibel and his Dad Carl for providing an ideal shelter...Kens trailer... to while away the time. Ya know, I do need Paul Richards to stay on my **s about tightening water pump bolts (with his brother Bob kinda keeping him in check ). Kudoos also to Bob Richards for just digging in to try and fix my trailer running lights. Out of the blue a guy named Kyle jumped in and had to have spent a good half hour troubleshooting this no light situation. Hats off to both of you! :beers2:

    I DID dodge a bullet.

    Regards,

    Jim

Another big thanks to Dan & Bob & all the track help. Hey, we tried, but ole mother nature just wasn't being very cooperative:moonu:
We still had an awesome turnout with some really neat new car's, and some great people, and despite the nasty weather, we did get to beat on the cars a little bit, so that was good, and we had great weather in the evening for the Hotel parking lot festivities:beer

Thanks again, looking forward to next year already.:3gears:

Thanks for all the hard work and dedication Bob ,Dan and crew.

Our little posse had a great time ,even under the damp circumstance, and that's a testament to ALL those involved, from the organizers and crew,to the participants and spectators.

I'm thankful and proud to be associated with such a fine group.

    Cheers! :beers2:

Rich; Was the tollroad still closed near Michigan City? West bound was flooded and traffic was backed up for about eight miles around 1:00 PM. We got off at 20 and took 80-90 home. Rained so hard once in Michigan we almost had to stop.
Do you know the dates for next year? Bob

    Bob,

No, but he was able to pin point the trouble midway under the pickup box. Its a todo for me when this rain stops. Thanks again for just jumping in to try and fix it!

    Hi Donny,

    Great seeing you!

In a way I was as surprised as you were.

A couple months back,I had surmised that three of those S/C's were going to be there ,but got a real surprise when I got a call from a friend who wanted to bring a fourth. The kicker was that it was an ex car of mine.

Man did it hurt seeing it again(regrets) but the guy I sold it to (Ed) is a great guy and caretaker, and he's there with his son, doing one of the things that this event does well, bringing families together.Great to see another father and son team having a good time together ,as I saw many there doing the same!!!

I personally was glad to see such an increase, and did speak with many others still ,that are planning on coming.

My one regret was not getting to meet Steve Hodges as I knew that he was buzzing around the track, but I just never found time to seek him out.Duh!

Always good to see some of the usual suspects,in the 08 AMC camp, Bob Witt and son Bob with daughter too, along with Rich Rinke, Mark Weymouth,Larry Sr.and Jr.Weymouth,Mark Chapman,Tim and Rhonda Clary (Casey and Cindy Marks)Tim's hired shoe, and who's that guy ,Dan Jen... . Also good to see some newbie AMCer's this year in Ed G. and son with his bud Luke, and Steve Hodges who I regretfully did not get to meet.

    Rich C.

P.S. Did Casey ever run the 70 AMX?

    Hello Bob,

Great seeing you ,and Bob Jr. with your granddaughter at the race.

We did run into that mess, but they kind of had it under control by the time we went through. They had a detour set up at the time we went through. Until you mentioned it here,I didn't know that the road was flooded, but thought that it was just road constuction. I always expect delays in Indiana.Just comes with the territory.

Can't thank Bob, Dan and crew enough for bringing us all together to celebrate our common passion. I thought the track did an amazing prep job on the starting line this year.

Big turnout for a lousy weather forecast!

Let me throw my thanks to Bob, Dan and crew. Had a great time met alot of new people. Thanks to all who took the time to stop by and shoot the breeze. The car didn't run to it's potential, and over heated after 2 runs. Still had a great time! Wouldn't have rather been anywhere else! Jim

    Thanks Bob, Dan, & crew.
It was still fun, despite the rain, to hang out at the track with everyone.
Thanks to the crew at the track for their efforts.

Now it is back to the crazy sleep schedule that comes with having a baby.

Ed's had the AMC tucked in the garage the last few years, it needed some work to get back down a track. Heck, the air pump was still working all weekend while racing. Found bad UCA bushings the weekend before, put them in on Weds night before leaving (along with those front brake calipers he called you about).

No worries about the Studes going away, there still are a couple supercharged Studes sharing a home with the Sc/rambler that may just make a future appearance...

Thanks to all, it was a great time there, even with the rain!

    Luke ,

Great to meet you at the race.

I'm afraid that Ed does not know the two monsters that he has created here. You're now officially a Pure Stock fiend.By my diagnosis of course.

Glad to have your crew aboard.

Rich, great meeting you as well. Really liked your AMX (it definitely hauls!).

Yeah, we're both hooked, your diagnosis is accurate :TU:

We had a few questions about the car's history that we forgot to ask, I'll have to get you a PM tomorrow... we've heard a couple stories through Ed, lol...
