Thank you to Dan and Bob who put together one of the best events that a musclecar guy could ever be lucky enough to attend!!!!

It also is a venue in which I am so very fortunate to have so many people come together that I call friends.

I would like to thank so many people for pep talks and true friendship that poured out. Your kindness does not go unnoticed!!!! It was indeed very difficult to make my way back south as my life is taking some dips in the road, but I am confident that I will be in a better place in the near future.

I cannot say enough how much it means to me to see my friends and the ability to forget the outside world for just a weekend. Thank you for the escape!!!!

For everyone that worked hard for the times, this weekend, the track managed to give you some reward!! Congrats to everyone who won, my well-wishes to all who lost their shootouts, and good luck to all who broke.

Thank you again to all of those people who make this event what it is and something that I hold very close to my heart!!!!:3gears:

Thanks again to both Dan & Bob. Had a great time as usual, all of the effort you guys go through to put on the event each year does not go un-noticed or un-appreciated.

Thanks to everyone that made the weekend possible. Every year is so much fun and this was no exception. It was great seeing everyone and getting to do some racing. (Jeremy beat me by .03 seconds so he got to race on Sat.) I have to say it was sad to see the weekend end. Already counting the days to Martin.

Paul, are you sure you weren't looking at my time slip? That was my personal best as well, right down to the mph! I think we need to race!:spank:

    Bob and Dan,

My son Cameron ('64 Impala SS) and I also wanted to add our heartfelt thanks to you both and to all the volunteers that made this event possible. The vibe from this event is truly something special. Neither the East Coast, the West Coast or the South have anything even remotely close to what we get to experience every year at Stanton. It's a great way to spend quality time with your son/daughter/wife/husband. A wonderful family activity. If you guys could somehow bottle it you'd billionaires!

Thanks again to everyone, see you next year. :TU:

    Bob and Dan,
Thanks so much for another wonderful event!
Even with engine issues, I would (and will go) again!
Also thanks to everyone for their kind words, support and advice.
I haven't lost the desire - I want to tear into the engine and get it going pronto!
Thanks again - wounded 69' GP 428 HO 4spd will return!

  8. Bob and Dan, it has been over 5 years since I got my 70 Z28 and wanted a stock muscle car to participate in this event ( being a Spectator since 2000).
I have made it there and hope to be coming back! This event is great American history on wheels! :Smarty:

Thanks for your time putting on the event, and your hospitality while teching and signing people up.

If I was limited to one event per year, this is the "don't miss" for me. I really appreciate the huge effort that Bob, Dan, the tech inspectors (Jim S.), and all the volunteers put into this weekend. Most of us wouldn't know where to start pulling this together.

  11. I am glad that you made it home safe and sound Dan. I wanted to thank you Chris for the very kind freindship in our race together, it really made the event very enjoyible for me. I was late getting there Friday and did not get to spend much time meeting people.
I thought your little 350 was not so little, I had to drive my ass off for that 2nd race! I still have alot to learn in driving my car, like on the launch, maybe @ a higher RPM, and shifting into 2nd a little latter.....It was my first time on the tree this time so i was working on that.
I am actually thinking about not changing my stock exhaust yet as I know there is still more to be found w/carb tuning and ignition. I just gor there so late, and was learning the tree, I deceided not to change that much yet. But I have some ideas,it seems that motor needs to spin up there around 6500.
I am also going to be working on my speed shifting more.

    Hello Pure Stockers
Thank you all for your kind words. And we also thank all of you for racing your pride and joy's at our event. Mother Nature finally gave us the weather she dearly owed us, and Dan and myself thank her personally. It was great to get two days of racing on the track. And boy did you Pure Stocker's take advantage of that. We wish we could of joined everyone, but someone has to drive the bus. A lot of you turned your best e.t.'s/mph with your cars. That's always a good feeling for us when we over hear Pure Stocker's talking in the pit's about setting a new personal best with his or her car. We had some new comers again this year, and we welcome you all to our format of musclecar drag racing. To own one of these fine machines and not use it for what it was built for should be a crime in our book. That being said, I remember a conversation a few years back with Pure Stocker Mike Hurd. When Mike first started racing his awesome 1970 Chevelle LS-6, he told me it was the most fun he's had with the car since he's owned it. I think that's a common feeling among us when those lifters are dancing on top of those cam lobe's at the tune of 5000 rpm's or more. And I don't think anyone noticed this year, but a special guest has returned again to the Pure Stocker rank's. Yes, that's right, Pastry Chef, Chuck Macho, has returned with his silver 1969 Charger 383 Magnum. I think he went unnoticed because he wasn't wearing his tux and bow tie uniform. Chuck, it was good to see the Charger go down the 1320 again. :TU: We also would like to thank all the volunteer workers behind the scenes, we couldn't do it with out you. So again Pure Stocker's, we thank you all for one of the best Pure Stock race's to date, and hope to see a few of you at Martin next month.

JUST TWO GUYS AND A DRAG RACE

Thanks Dan and Bob! Was a great week-end. Good friends, good food and cold beer! Oh ya, and good racin'. It was a proud week-end for me as I watched my son Eric stay calm and cool and run .00 reaction the first round and then a .04 and then a .02.
To win his shootout against Julie was earned!
And then Owen pulls off a new all time best for the COPO Nova was just as exciting. A 12.743 with a 1.925 sixty footer with a 4 speed small block shows his driving abilities! The boy can shift!
    Thanks again guys!

    Bob & Dan,

Like everyone else on this thread, just want to say THANKS for all the work you do to host such a great event. The quality and variety of cars that this draws is spectacular. Even though I was just a spectator, I had a blast. Hope to have a car there next year.
